Challenge: People feel unwelcome in gaming because the gaming community is openly hostile to women and people of color.
Insight: Better representation in gaming could bring more black women together to join Black Girl Gamers.
Solution: Make black women the protagonists in the games.
Due to the poor representation of black women in video games Black Girl Gamers created Protagonoir. Protagonoir gives gamers the option to play as black female protagonists. By BGG partnering with Netflix's "Strong Black Leads" and Ubersoft, gamers are able to play as iconic black female characters from their favorite shows and movies. There is also an option for gamers to create their own protagonist. This way black women have the representation that they deserve while gaming and find community with other black girl gamers.
